Visit from Guide dog Nutmeg and Jenny

This morning, we had a visit from Jenny and her beautiful guide dog Nutmeg. We learned lots about the training of guide dogs, how much it costs and how to behave around working guide dogs. It is important that we don’t approach the dogs when they are wearing their harness, as this means that they are in ‘work mode’ and should not be distracted from their owners, who are relying on the dog’s absolute concentration to keep them both safe. Best of all, we all got to fuss Nutmeg at the end of the session - she certainly enjoys belly rubs and lots of attention!
