DFE COVID 19 Update and Measures for the return to School 4th January 2022
1. Daily testing for contacts of COVID-19
From 14 December, a new national approach to daily testing for contacts of COVID-19 has been introduced. All adults who are fully vaccinated and children aged 5 to 18 years and 6 months, identified as a contact of someone with COVID-19 – whether Omicron or not – should take an LFD test EVERY DAY for 7 days instead of self-isolating.
Children UNDER five years old do not need to take part in daily testing for contacts of COVID-19 and do not need to isolate.
2. Whole School Gatherings
We will be limiting our gatherings and lunches continue to be separated by Key Stage and playtime per class. We are lucky that each class has their own cloakrooms and toilets and we will continue with enhanced cleaning of high touch points.
We will also continue to have windows and doors open for ventilation so please make sure your child has extra layers and a good, warm coat.
3. Face Coverings
Unless exempt, we ask all adults to wear a mask or face covering when in the communal areas of the school (i.e. when moving through the corridors). We also ask that parents / carers wear face masks when they are in the school property.
4. Visitors to School
Please try to limit non-scheduled visits to school. Please try and either phone or email the school office – or if it is a concern regarding your child’s work at school, contact teachers using Seesaw.
Please remember not to use Seesaw to log absences – these can be done via the school phone 01772 812689 leave a message if outside 8.30 to 4 p.m. please let us know before 9.30 a.m. for ordering lunches.
